Heres a tip for artists, collect beautiful cheap old frames then make art specifically in the size of the frame! You save money on custom framing, which can be extremely expensive, you can match the art to the frame, you wont need to resize the frame at all and you get to use a beautiful antique!

I’ve actually just done this myself without thinking about it, I usually only get clothes that are super cool and that I KNOW I’m gonna wear the hell out of but I’m still poor. I’ve never liked when clothes or homes looked too clean and slick, like it just feels too artificial and like you said- it takes life away. Always always wear your best, and learn how to sew! I’m gonna start soon because I just love the idea of seeing all the little spots that got patched up (plus it just saves you money in the long run. Consumerism only stops when you stop buying so much crap)

What a cleaver and useful topic! Another thing about showing confidence when walking in large cities is that you will not appear to be a vulnerable, lost target. One of the things I love the most about walking in New York City is hearing all the foreign language conversations of my fellow walkers. The diversity is so exciting!

For more laundry lessons, while avoiding bleach and other not-good chemicals, the "Laundry Evangelist" RUclips channel explains a lot - removing mustard, ketchup, chocolate - why you should use LESS detergent - why you should mainly use warm water - why you shouldn't use dryer sheets or fabric softener - removing those brown "mystery stains" that pop up on clothing when you're not looking, etc. I've learned a lot from him. He has appeared on NPR quite a few times and seems like a nice guy.

Dear Rajiv, my son and I visited NYC this weekend to see 3 Broadway plays. As soon as we got to Manhattan on Friday, our first stop was Santa Maria Novella, where we purchased amazing products. I told the salesmen, Andy and David, about you. They were awesome with impecable customer service. Then, we went to the street, you stopped and plan to pain, then to St Patrick's Cathedral and looked thru the tiny black steel windows, you did in the video. Also went to the Prince Street Pizza Shop. Thank you for making our lives richer and intentional.

This store is magical, I would love to go there in person someday. I was never able to buy on their website (shipping fee + enormous taxes for imports in my country), but when I was a teenager I would browse their website just to daydream about art supplies and to get inspiration

I loved that german phrase “were too poor to buy cheap things” I resonate with this so much! I invested in all of my materials because there is a very slim chance i will be disappointed and i cant afford to be disappointed. I often feel like my art supplies are out of my league but learning without supplies fighting against me is helping me learn what I’m doing wrong or what I need to change. I lost my beloved only Son last year from an unknown undiagnosed heart condition. He suffered a cardiac arrest. It was unexpected. He was a kind, caring, sweet 22 year old . I miss him with all my soul. My heart is broken. It's the root of my sadness. I'm in therapy, I try to stay positive, be kind and keep living. Everyone thinks I'm so strong and positive but don't always feel so strong I enjoyed this video very much❤. I was wondering Rajiv, do you have any thoughts or advice about grief? This video definitely makes me happy to watch..the habits of positive thinking ❤️

As soon as I saw that bar of soap standing on end in the soap dish, I had to pause the video and go stand up all my soap--what a brilliant way to minimize the amount of soap slime in the dish. I'm a bath person--I do all my best reading in the tub and it feels so good to soak when my muscles are sore from a work-out--but I'm definitely going to try a eucalyptus shower. Great video, I am a crafter, that does a little painting. I do quilts, and primitive make-do items. Having quality tools allows me to create without thinking about the tools.

I have made my on mattes, it is hard to make them perfect, and color? Whatever I am framing, I choose the color that is least, if it is a multi colored piece whatever little speck of color that is on it that is the color the matte will be. So the red matte with all that red in the watercolor would be too much.
